What is Reiki?

Reiki is a very gentle form of working with energy, to restore balance.... emotional, physical & spiritual. It is a really useful tool in managing stress & anxiety.

Reiki is also referred to as "hands on healing", although it is equally effective with no touch involved, making it a very comfortable therapy, for clients who do not wish to be touched.
Reiki can only be given for our "highest good".

Dr Mikao Usui developed Usui Reiki in Japan in the early part of the 20th Century.

'REI' means Universal
'KI' is translated as Life Force or Energy

Reiki is a deeply relaxing experience

Do I need Reiki if I am well?

Reiki is a real treat.

Reiki is great for 'smoothing us' down! Especially when we are tired, feeling out of sorts or just that we need our batteries charged!

It can help to strengthen the immune system.

Reiki works by allowing the body to access it's own self healing ability.

Reiki increases our energy levels & promotes a natural balance.

Is Reiki Safe for Everyone?

Reiki is a very safe treatment for people of all ages.

It is also safe during pregnancy & for babies too.

Reiki is increasingly being used in hospitals & hospices, with very good effect.

Animals also love receiving Reiki!

What Reiki Isn't!

* Reiki is not a form of massage or manipulation.
* Reiki is not 'my' energy.
* Reiki is not dependent on belief or religious faith.
* Reiki is not an 'all or nothing therapy'.
* You will never be asked to stop any prescribed medication; on the contrary you may be advised to visit your GP to check out symptoms for you.

More questions about energy

We can all feel energy. We are all aware of walking into a room where someone has had a row & you feel as though you could "cut the atmosphere with a knife". Just as we may be aware of a place or a person, that makes us feel peaceful.

Is Reiki like Faith Healing?
Not really...... no belief is necessary, only a desire to be open to the idea of taking responsibility for improving your own health & feelings.

Imagine Reiki to be similar to tuning in to a radio station. We can't see that either, but it is there as soon as we turn our radio on.
